Possible Operation

The Forum is designed to enable patients and others concerned with lipoma to interact with each other.

Lipomas are benign fatty tumors that occur as bulges under the skin. Since the only proven therapy for lipomas is surgery , collagenase injection represents a potential minimally invasive approach for humans which may be a therapeutic advantage over the current options.

Possible Operation

Postby mikey60 » Mon Oct 26, 2015 10:43 am

Good morning,

I had an injury in 1993, and over the years have been dealing with pain from my L4, L5.
Recently I had an Ultrasound, and the technician said it was lipoma on the left and right side of my lower spine.
I've been told these could be removed and it would take some pressure off my lower back...etc. I am 55 years old.

My simple question is, is the operation beneficial? Will I get relief? Or should I continue to deal with the problem.
My GF is not big on the idea, and thinks it may do more harm than good.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
